Lainsitztal-Strecke Teil 2

22.9 km of paved roads and 26.1 km of forest roads

From the Nebelsteinhütte, the tour heads down through the Friedental valley toward the Eisenwerk, going in the opposite direction of the Nebelstein route, where we switch to the Nordwald route. Here, we cross the Lainsitz River and cycle via Karlstift to the Binderberg, the highest-elevation farm in the Waldviertel. Via the Leitenhof, we follow the route down to Eckerasch, where we meet the Granittrail, which leads us via Steinbach to Oberlainsitz, where we turn right onto the Reitgraben route. This route takes us to Mühlbach and Sulz; here, at the lowest point of the village, we leave the route and turn left, back onto the Granittrail. This trail takes us via Walterschlag and Oberwindhag to Spital, where we finally switch to the Weidenhöfen route, which leads us back to Weitra.

Important note: Coming from Nebelstein, the bridge near the ironworks is closed. Take a detour away from the Nebelstein route toward Angelbach until Stegmühle, then continue on the country road through Fischbach.
