Brewing town

Weitra can proudly claim to be the oldest brewing town in Austria. The heyday of Weitra’s brewing industry with 33 breweries and a stately cooperative brewery was in the middle of the 17th century. Today, still two breweries in Weitra exist: The beer manufacture Weitra and one of the smallest breweries in the Brauhotel Weitra.
