The Top Ten Trail leads through the Old Town of Weitra, continues along the Hofgraben through the second city gate to the Bürgerspitalkirche, and returns via the Promenade and the Stadtpfarrkirche to Rathausplatz.
Follow the path from the bus station toward the city gate until you reach Rathausplatz (Town Hall Square) or the town hall. Below the town hall, nestled among parked cars and behind an unassuming wooden gate, is the cistern. Continue along the houses on Obere Zeile. Turn right onto Schlossgasse to reach the Meierhof, where you can climb up to the castle. Head back down the Schlossberg and walk past the small exhibit featuring a section of the Berlin Wall. You are now in the Hofgraben and are already walking directly along the city wall. If you follow the Hofgraben to the end and then cross Dr. Kordik-Platz and the Untere Landstraße through the Untere Tor, you’ll already be able to see your next stop from above. Follow the steps down to the Bürgerspitalkirche.
Now head back up into town and walk along the promenade below the city wall to the Stadtpfarrkirche. When you leave the church and continue straight ahead into Auhofgasse, you’ll find the Auhof on your left. Continue walking up Auhofgasse to return to Rathausplatz. Turn left, and you’ll find yourself in front of the Sgraffitohaus. Two buildings further down on the left, you’ll find the Brauhotel Weitra, your final stop.
